Terms of use.

The conditions that govern access to Talveri Nova, the permitted use of our archive and the limits of our educational service.

Effective 20 August 2026Version 2.0Canada

These Terms of Use form an agreement between the person accessing talverinova.com (“you”) and the operator of Talveri Nova (“Talveri Nova,” “we,” “us” or “our”). They should be read with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Responsible Gaming Policy.

1. Acceptance and changes

By accessing or using the website, you acknowledge these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may revise the Terms to reflect legal, security, editorial or operational changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Continued use after a revised version is posted constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable right or remedy available under applicable consumer-protection or other law.

2. Nature of the service

Talveri Nova is a non-commercial informational archive about casino and gaming-industry history, architecture, technology, rules and culture. We are not a casino, gaming operator, affiliate, payment provider, broker, financial adviser, legal adviser or health provider.

The website does not offer or facilitate:

  • real-money or simulated gambling;
  • user accounts, balances, wallets, deposits or withdrawals;
  • odds, betting tips, prediction tools or systems claiming to improve outcomes;
  • bonuses, promotions, operator rankings or referral links;
  • booking, ticketing or transactions with historical properties discussed;
  • personalized medical, financial, debt or legal advice.

Names and trademarks of real casinos, manufacturers or institutions appear for historical identification. Their inclusion does not imply sponsorship, approval or a current relationship.

3. Eligibility and adults-only access

You must be at least 18 years old to use the site. If the age of majority where you live is higher for relevant content or activities, you are responsible for complying with local law. The site’s age acknowledgement is a content restriction and convenience preference; it does not verify identity or eligibility for any gambling activity.

Talveri Nova does not knowingly direct the service to minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor supplied personal information should contact privacy@talverinova.com.

4. Historical content, accuracy and no reliance

We aim to distinguish evidence from folklore and to identify uncertainty. Historical sources may disagree, and dates can refer separately to construction, soft opening, official opening, closure or demolition. AI-generated editorial illustrations are labelled and are not archival photographs.

Content is provided for general education. We do not warrant that every statement is complete, current or error-free. Do not rely on the site as the sole source for academic publication, investment, travel, legal compliance, clinical decisions or current gambling rules. Verify important matters with primary sources and qualified professionals.

Rules, regulation, support services, venue status and external websites may change. The date on a page shows editorial review, not a guarantee that every external fact remains current.

5. Responsible-use disclaimer

Gambling involves risk and cannot provide guaranteed income. Historical or technical explanations are not invitations to participate. If the subject matter is distressing or contributes to an urge to gamble, stop using the site and consult the resources in our Responsible Gaming Policy. In immediate danger call 9-1-1; for suicide crisis support in Canada call or text 9-8-8.

6. Intellectual property and permitted use

Unless otherwise stated, original editorial text, selection, arrangement, site design, logo and generated illustrations are owned by or licensed to Talveri Nova and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

You may access pages for personal, non-commercial research and may quote brief passages with clear attribution and a link to the source page. You may not, without prior written permission:

  • republish or sell a complete article, image collection or substantial portion of the archive;
  • remove attribution, notices or generated-image labels;
  • present an editorial reconstruction as authentic archival evidence;
  • use our name, logo or presentation to imply affiliation or endorsement;
  • create a competing database by systematic extraction of substantial content;
  • use content to advertise or facilitate gambling products.

Automated search indexing consistent with robots.txt is permitted. Fair dealing and other statutory exceptions remain unaffected.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • interfere with availability, security or normal operation;
  • introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities without authorization or bypass access controls;
  • send fraudulent requests, impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation;
  • use automated traffic at a volume that degrades service;
  • collect personal information about other visitors;
  • use the website for unlawful, infringing, deceptive or abusive activity;
  • frame or mirror the site in a manner that conceals its origin or alters its notices.

We may restrict access or pursue appropriate remedies where conduct threatens the site, users or third parties.

8. External links

Links to government, museum and support resources are provided for context or assistance. We do not control those sites, endorse every statement on them or guarantee availability, security or accessibility. External terms and privacy policies apply after you leave Talveri Nova. We receive no affiliate commission from support links.

9. Availability and changes to the site

We may correct, update, reorganize, suspend or discontinue any page without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Planned preservation should not rely on the website remaining online; researchers should retain appropriate citations and access dates.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or continuous availability. Some jurisdictions do not permit particular exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Talveri Nova and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or an external link. This includes lost data, opportunity, revenue or reputation. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct where applicable.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Talveri Nova against third-party claims, reasonable costs and liabilities arising from your unlawful use of the site, infringement of another person’s rights or material breach of these Terms. This provision does not apply where prohibited by consumer law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are intended to be governed by applicable Canadian law and the law of the province in which the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before launch, the operator must identify that province and obtain advice about the appropriate forum clause. Mandatory consumer protections and jurisdictional rights are not displaced.

14. General provisions

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the policies incorporated by reference form the entire agreement regarding website use. Headings aid reading and do not control interpretation. You may not assign your obligations without our consent; we may assign the agreement in connection with a legitimate organizational transfer.

15. Contact and notices

Legal questions: legal@talverinova.com
Copyright or correction notices: editor@talverinova.com

Deployment requirement: Insert the operator’s full legal name, mailing address and province in the contact and governing-law sections before publication.

Effective 20 August 2026 · Version 2.0. These template terms should receive Canadian legal review once the operating entity and hosting province are known.
